Then the LORD spoke to Job out of the storm—JOB 40:6.
Every day we hear of devastation from environmental storms, hurricanes, and earthquakes. We also experience personal storms that are just as devastating yet not as obvious: Your company downsizes, and your job is gone. A child gets sick. Elderly parents need you more than ever. Relationships are strained.
I can tell you my own family hasn’t been exempt from those storms that come to discourage and cause us to lose hope.
When the prophet Isaiah experienced the storm of King Uzziah’s death, he testified, “I saw the Lord” (Isaiah 6:1). Isaiah raised his eyes to God for a fresh vision of God’s purpose in his life, for His presence, peace, and power.
What storm has struck your life? Don’t look back or around or ahead. Look up! Ask God to give you a fresh vision of Jesus. Ask Him to speak to you in the midst of the storm. Then ask Him to give you a renewed passion to tell others about Him.
