Life of Prayer

Karen Stubbs encourages moms to put their faith in God and pray that He will protect their children, especially in times that they cannot.

John 17: 15

My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.

Many times, as a mom, we try to protect our children. That is a good thing!  When a mom loves her child she wants to protect them from the evil in this world. Jesus was like that with us and in John 17 He prays for us, because He is getting ready to leave this earth. In John 17, Jesus prays to God and most of His prayer concerns us, His children. Jesus wanted God to protect us as He left earth, and He prayed earnestly for us.

Jesus is always our example- we need to take His lead and learn from this verse how to pray for our children the way He prays for us. So many times in a mom’s world, we can only protect our children to a certain degree. We cannot lock our children in the house and keep them from experiencing life, but we can pray earnestly for them on a regular basis. Jesus prayed that we would be protected from the evil one. Ask God to protect your children from Satan and his schemes. Ask God to give you wisdom and discernment as you parent your children. God knows what the future holds- only He can truly protect our children.

Prayer is powerful. Prayer connects us with God and allows us to pour out our hearts to a holy, sovereign, all-powerful God who loves our children and us more than we will ever be able to comprehend. There is peace that comes from prayer. Reach out today and begin a prayer campaign for your family. You will not be disappointed.

Thank You for Jesus- He was the perfect example of how I should live my life. God, thank You that Jesus prayed for me…He knew exactly what we needed and He knew You would provide. I lift my family up to You in prayer and I am asking for Your guidance and protection over my children. I cannot be with my child 24/7, but You can. I give them to You and I place my trust in You.
