Let's Be Clear

Are you in need of clarity? If you decide to focus on the Lord, he will order your steps accordingly.

The longer I live, the more convinced I am of the need for clarity. For many years, I chased a balanced life, but I gave up on that when I realized that Jesus was more concerned with focus than balance. Besides, I think balance is a myth – like nailing Jello to the wall. Focus, however is a life-long journey of reflective times of solitude, then acting with intentionality based upon what I heard the Father say to me. When I do that, I will begin to pour the right amount of myself into the right priorities and into the right people. This requires, daily, weekly and seasonal life-calibrations.

Jesus was the ultimate focused leader. He could boil His whole life mission down to just a few clear terms such as The Son of Man has come to seek and to save the lost.”  (Luke 19:10b)

While I will never attain that level of life-focus, Jesus is a role model for me to follow in listening to the Father, and ordering my steps according to my created and called purpose.
