Lessons But Not Limits
I couldn’t wait to start a new year, but as January got closer, I felt afraid. What if this year turned out to be as hard as last year?
In his curriculum, 5 Days to Your Best Year Ever, author Michael Hyatt says that, “As we move forward and look at the future, we need to see it as a blank canvas. We need to take the lessons we've learned with us, but not the limiting beliefs.”
He says, “Limiting beliefs tempt us to look back at frustrations and failures, or other negative experiences from the past, and assume they’ll happen again. But that limits us from going forward and growing.”
Our past does not define our future. Let’s learn from the hard lessons life has taught us but not be limited by them.
