Lead Us Back: Songs of Worship - Day 12

When we recognize that the Lord is our deliverer, we simply acknowledge that we cannot save ourselves from our perilous situations and circumstances. But God can!

Savior come to set us free

From our pain and suffering

We are waiting for the day when

Our Deliverer is coming

There are some important factors to note about the deliverance that the Lord brings. Firstly, the story of the Lord delivering the Israelites reminds us that He is doing something for us that we cannot do for ourselves. When we recognize that the Lord is our deliverer, we are simply acknowledging that we cannot save ourselves from the perilous situation and circumstances that we are in.

Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. - Exodus 14:13

Secondly, we realize that only God can take us from a place of separation, broken heartedness, bondage, slavery, guilt, pain, and suffering, and lead us to a place of intimacy, healing, wholeness, freedom, forgiveness, grace, love, and mercy. Quite simply, our Deliverer brings us from a place of ungodliness to a place of godliness! Also, we look forward to the time when Jesus returns and all ungodliness will be banished, and Christ's kingdom will flourish in its completeness.

Use these lyrics from “Our Deliverer” as a prayer of thanksgiving and a prayer of hope and faith:

I stand upon these words from the song:

Every burden, one day, will be lifted

And every broken heart will be redeemed

The Lord Almighty is coming to our rescue

Salvation’s waiting for all who believe.
