Last Adam and Us

00:00

Description

The first Adam prepared us for this earth; this last Adam has prepared us for Heaven.

Adam totally destroyed us! If Adam totally destroyed, cannot the Son of God do a greater job of saving us?

Identification is a critically important truth that is underappreciated by many Christians. Identification applied to our Fall in Adam where we were fully identified with him, and so we fully fell with him. Identification also applies to Christ where we have been fully saved with him. We have already experienced complete identification with Adam so in the same way we have experienced complete identification with Christ. That is why he is called the last Adam.

So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. 47 The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly (1Cor 15:45-48 ).

Since Christ is infinitely greater than Adam, does it not follow that Christ’s identification with us will be vastly more powerful and positive? Yes, we are completely liberated by Christ, and liberated from what our union with Adam had done to us. The first Adam prepared us for this earth; this last Adam has prepared us for Heaven.
