Larger Unity

When we are part of the Body of Christ, our individual identification with Christ justifies us with God the Father. But we also share a larger unity with all the believers in the world.

You are part of the world’s largest family! When we are part of the Body of Christ, an individual identification with Christ exists that makes the individual justified with God the Father. But there is also a larger unity with all the believers in the world. The members have been identified with the person of Christ and they also belong to the head, Jesus Christ, as extensions of him.

For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many (1Cor 12:12-14).

You may share more in common with members of the body of Christ who are a half a world away than with biological members of your own family, if those family members are not Christian. The Holy Spirit has placed us into the body of Christ, and also has made us to drink of the Spirit. Our lives are being refreshed by Him. The more we are aware of our union with the Body of Christ throughout the world, the more willing we will be to help our fellow family members!
