Known for Christ
Matthew 10:32 (NIV®)
“Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.”
There is a lot of emphasis in our culture on personal, private faith. But our faith shouldn’t be only private, because it will be very difficult to argue you’re a Christ-follower if the people who know you don’t know that. Yes, you will be vulnerable because nonbelievers will tell you how Christians should be, and we all have flaws. Declare your allegiance anyway. God will meet you in ways He’ll never meet you any other way. And there are some victories and triumphs that will come to you when you’re willing to be an advocate for Jesus publically.
Heavenly Father, I acknowledge today that You are my Lord and Master. You are the Almighty God and worthy of all my praise. May I always be ready to stand up for You in private conversations and in public settings. Give me wisdom and discernment to speak for You in ways that will invite others into Your Kingdom. Thank You for Jesus, who sits at Your right hand and intercedes for me. In His name, amen.
