Knowing Everything and Experiencing Nothing

To be true followers of Christ, we need a New Father, a New Identity, and a New Birth!

For the amusement of his fellow Communists, Joseph Stalin, who once attended a Russian Orthodox Monastery, would quote portions of the Bible. Such truth did not change him. Truth needs an additional element. What is it? It is what Jesus told Nicodemus:

In reply Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again." (John 3:3)

You should not be surprised at my saying, `You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." "How can this be?" Nicodemus asked. (John 3:7-9)

Nothing is more real than a birth. So to speak, a newborn child almost exploded into a new life in a new world. Truth, to be truth, must always come with the impinging power of new life. Thus it is with salvation! We need a New Father; we need a New Identity, and we need a New Birth!
