Know Thy Stuff

Description

Seek to be skilled, be good at your craft and stay at the cutting edge. The sharper you are, the quicker you can cut through the tough stuff of leadership.

Knowing and doing is key.

Would you follow anyone who is incompetent?  Not for long you won't.

If you don't know what you are doing, you are going to be mighty lonely.  Without competence and expertise, no one will follow.  Without knowledge, skill and abilities, you won't be leading.  You'll just be out for a walk.

In fact, surveys say that "knowing thy stuff" is the second most important quality that followers seek in leaders.  After trustworthiness, knowin’ what your doin’ is key.

Do you see a man skilled in his work?
He will stand before kings;
He will not stand before obscure men. Proverbs 22:29

So seek to be skilled. Be good at your craft. Stay at the cutting edge. The sharper you are, the quicker you can cut through the tough stuff of leadership.
