Kindness

Description

If we really love Jesus, then we should honor Him by loving and caring for His children—especially the very least of them.

While reading the Word of God early this morning, I read the account of the kindness shown by King David towards the cripple, Mephibosheth in 2 Samuel  9:1-13.

This young man was the son of David’s dearest friend Jonathan, who had died fighting the enemy with His Father, King Saul.

When David found out about Jonathan’s only surviving, crippled son, he brought the young man out of poverty and into his palace, and he gave him a place at the royal table, to eat daily with the King.

He also restored to Mephibosheth all of His grandfather’s land and possessions, simply because of David’s friendship and love for Jonathan.

If you and I really love Jesus, then we too should honor Him by loving and caring for His children—especially the very least of them, because the Word of God says in Matthew 25:40, “inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to me”.
