Keep Your Eyes on Me

Where are your eyes focused? In troubling times, do you look to the Lord or do you just focus on your problems?

It was time to wake up, but everything in me wanted to go back to sleep!

I rolled over to see what time it was and noticed my dog on the floor staring at me. I knew I needed to get up, but I didn’t want to get out of bed. I had a conflict I needed to deal with and didn’t know to approach the problem. As I went to pull the blanket over my head, I noticed my dog again, focused, with her eyes on ME.

I sensed God whispering to my heart “Renee, Where are your eyes focused?” Well, my eyes weren’t on God. They were focused on my problems. Then I remembered a verse in the Bible that says, “My eyes are toward You, O GOD, in You I take refuge.” In that moment, I decided to imitate my dog’s devotion by turning my eyes towards God. Then, I could face my problems knowing He’d help me every step of the way.
