Twelve-year-old Ariel from Bolivia is proud of the beautiful white duck, one of two that he and his sister, Erlinda, received from World Vision Gift Catalog donations. “We went to school to pick up the ducks,” says Ariel. “Then we came home and said, ‘Surprise!’”

Ariel’s adopted parents, Marcelino and Gabina Godyo, were thrilled. “Now we are going to have eggs! And we’re going to have more ducks!” they said.

Marcelino says World Vision’s help through sponsorship of his own children made it possible for him and Gabina to take in her niece and nephew when her brother died. “I know the Bible,” says Marcelino. “The Bible says you have to love others. I love them like my own children. They look to us as parents.”
