Jesus Paid It All
I Peter 2:24
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
Because Jesus died on the cross for my sins, I can live a life of righteousness. Because Jesus bore my sins on the cross, I can have a relationship with God. Because Jesus paid the price of my sin, I have been healed. So many times, we wash over these words and the high cost of what Jesus did on Calvary. As painful as it is to think about it, we need to think about it. We need to sit and take in the huge price Jesus paid in order for us to have a relationship with the almighty God. Without Jesus’ shed blood, we would still be separated from God. God is a holy God, and we would not be able to fellowship with him with our sin. But, we have a redeemer, and his name is Jesus.
It is important as a mom that you think on such things and teach them to your children. Children are eager to learn, and what is more important to teach them than the fact that God sent his only son to die for our sins so that we could have a relationship with God? Christ is the bridge to God. Without Christ, we all fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)
As you go about your day today, and you teach your child to sit down while they eat their food, to wash their hands, or to do their homework, don’t forget about the most important thing you can ever teach them. Teach them about Jesus and what He did on the cross.
Father, Thank you for this day, thank you for your son, who died for my sins. God, without Jesus I would not be able to have a relationship with you. Without Jesus I would still be full of sin. Thank you that I can now live for righteousness and be holy in your sight.
