Jesus as Author

Description

Jesus is held up to us as an example, so let’s fix our eyes on Him and trust Him to write our stories.

Hebrews 12:2 (NIV®)

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Jesus is the author of your story. He created you for this time and this place to do something significant in His Kingdom. He’s written not an average story for you, but an extraordinary story. He’s also the perfecter of your faith who has the power to make the ending work. Storms, demons, sickness, death—none of those intimidated Jesus while He was on earth—and they are not intimidating Him today as He sits at the right hand of God. There will be some challenges between where you are now and God’s best for you. Jesus endured death on the cross before His joy was complete. He’s held up to us as an example, so let’s fix our eyes on Him and trust Him to write our stories.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, it is so easy for me to focus my attention on things other than You—my circumstances, my feelings—a lot of “me” it seems. Give me a renewed focus on You and Your purposes, no matter where that leads me, for You are my victory in this life and the next. In the name of Jesus, the author and perfecter of my faith, amen.
