Jesus as a Mentor
We are familiar with the need to learn certain skills for life, for jobs, even for relationships like marriage and parenting. To become truly skilled, we look for role models and mentors whom we want to be like, and we apprentice ourselves to them. In Jesus, we have a personal and powerful leadership role model and mentor. What leadership skills are you learning from Him? Get His perspective as you step into your day.
The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?” “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.”—John 1:35-39
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for inviting us to come and see. Teach us to lead as we follow You, the ultimate servant leader. In Your name we pray, amen.
