It's Time to Go
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?—ROMANS 10:14.
We’re blessed to have so many Bible studies offered in our churches, homes, dorms, and at the office. Bookstore shelves are filled with studies for every conceivable group of people. But I wonder if we are more comfortable studying about the Bible than we are in actually doing what it says.
Mary Magdalene watched as Jesus was crucified. She’d seen Him die, and she’d seen Him buried. But the Bible says three days later, on the Sunday morning following the crucifixion, she encountered the risen Christ, and in the thrill of that moment she clung to Him. Jesus said to her, “Do not hold on to me…. Go instead …and tell…” (John 20:17). He was commissioning Mary to tell others about Him.
Could it be that the Lord is telling you and me to stop holding on to our Bible studies and Christian groups? The time has come to do something: go and tell others about Jesus!
