It's Enough to Simply Start …
Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.”
Demonstration of faith is sometimes what we’re lacking to give something a go ... to dare to take the first step. Starting is a choice. And choosing is based on what you’re thinking about …
If your soul is besieged by doubt or fear, you have the authority to silence those emotions in the name of Jesus. You have the power to tell these thoughts that they have no place in your mind or soul because you are a child of God and He Himself is walking alongside you!
Going in the direction the Holy Spirit inspires you to take is a choice that’s entirely yours. The very first step in this direction may seem monumental. But in reality, that’s not the case: it’s only monumental in your mind! And the more gigantic it is to you, the more frightening it becomes. So ... reduce it ... make it smaller! It’s not too hard! The first steps may be as simple as:
- Making a phone call.
- Filling out a form.
- Starting a conversation.
- Saying “I’m sorry.”
Whatever your dream may be ... a happy marriage, a meaningful professional career, a healthy body, financial freedom, or something else ... it’s possible for you to take the first step today in the direction God is calling you!
Don’t be afraid of this first step...God Himself goes before you!
The Bible says, “‘I will go before you and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of bronze and cut the bars of iron.’” (see Isaiah 45:2)
Today, take a step, begin!
