It's About the People

Description

God’s people are at the center of His story and His purposes in the earth.

Psalm 100:3 (NIV®)

Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

God’s intention in the earth is directed first and foremost to His people. That is the story from Genesis to Revelation, and it has not changed. God made the earth and everything in it for His people, so we certainly have a stewardship responsibility. But when Jesus appears on this planet the second time, He is not coming back to see Mount Everest or a whale—He is coming back for His people. We hear messages from various groups that people are no more important than other creatures or even the earth itself. That is not true—we are the ones created in His image and for relationship with Him. Don’t ever lose sight of the fact that God’s people are at the center of His story and His purposes in the earth.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for the unimaginable blessing of being created in Your image. I do not fully understand that, but You say it is so and I trust You. You love me with a love beyond what any human can feel or even comprehend, even sending Your Son to die for me. Help me to love others as You do and to always keep people at the center of my plans and purposes. In Jesus’ name, amen.
