Is Your Life Under Construction?
Most of the time, when we encounter construction on the road, it gets on our nerves because we lose time because of the slowdowns it causes, etc.!
However, if you think about it a bit more, road work is there to give us better, smoother roads without holes or unpleasant bumps ... Eventually, construction allows us to drive more easily. The road becomes more pleasant.
The same parallel can be made with our lives: we all experience seasons of “construction” in our lives ... times when God seems to deeply work on us. He molds our hearts and removes everything that has accumulated there that’s not of Him. For sure, it’s unpleasant at the moment, but it’s there to make us better, more resistant, stronger …
We read in the Bible, “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” (Romans 5:3-4)
These times of trial, or training, are there to perfect us in order to make us evermore like Christ. So be patient, the construction isn’t always fun, and we’ll experience it as long as we’re on this Earth. But we also get to see how the road ahead becomes smoother and more enjoyable after each season of construction is completed!
