Is It Doubt, Worry, or Fear?

Renee Swope shares promises that helped her replace self-doubt with God’s truth.

I used to feel paralyzed by self-doubt, but I didn't always call it doubt. Maybe you don't either.

Sometimes I’d call it worry, worry I’d disappoint someone or worry that I might make a mistake and get criticized for it. Other times I’d call it fear, fear I wouldn't measure up or fear that I'd fail or be rejected.

One day, I sensed God showing me that in all those situations, I was doubting I’d be enough, do enough or measure up enough in someone else’s eyes. Those doubts became worry and fear. So, I decided to trace my feeling back to thoughts that were making me doubt myself, and then I asked God to help me replace my thoughts with His thoughts. It has made a huge difference!
