I Am the Way

Jesus didn’t say, “I’m one of many ways.” He said that He is the way, the truth and the life.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

People sometimes say, “Surely there are many ways to heaven.” It sounds so politically correct. But the reality is that Jesus did not say that there were alternatives. He didn't say, “I’m one of many ways.” He said that He is the way, the truth and the life.

This isn't an exclusive statement, though. It is one of the most inclusive statements in all of Scripture. Because what Jesus is saying is that every single person who has ever lived or will ever live has an opportunity to make the choice to accept His truth. He leaves the decision up to us. And for those of us who have made that choice, He has given us the responsibility of sharing that truth with those around us.

Jesus offers us an open door to safety, to satisfaction and to eternal security. Pray now to accept that opportunity for life change. And if you have, pray for the opportunities to share that truth with others.

If you are wondering, “What’s next?” in your walk with Christ, contact a local church and find out. And help someone else discover what their next step is as well.
