Hoping for More

Many children and families in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo have been displaced from their traditional lands by conflict for more than ten years. Now many are facing hunger.

At least 6.5 million people in seven Democratic Republic of Congo territories will face hunger nearly to the point of famine by June, according to recent projections. This is Level 4 food insecurity, which means at least one in five families will experience acute malnutrition or a death due to unreliable food supplies. Level 5 is famine.

Most people affected are in conflict-torn eastern DRC. World Vision coordinates relief and feeding programs there and also supports education, clean water, and economic development.

Please pray that children will have the food they need to grow and peace to pursue their dreams in security.
