Wives should exhibit wholesome conduct and cultivate inner beauty, which is precious in God's sight.

Wives, submit to your own husbands as to the Lord. -Ephesians 5:22 (NKJV)

Marriage “How To[s]” litter the study. “I’ve tried everything to fix our marriage, Lord,” Cheyenne sobbed, “but nothing works!” Within the bedrock of a prosperous marriage, principles of love exist between the Father and a bride/groom: faith, obedience, training, edification, representation, and growth. By not honoring her unbelieving husband, Will, and his God-given authority over her, Cheyenne is dubbed ‘the bride from hell.’

“Obey your husband,” the Lord rebuked, “and stop flirting with worldly advice. Renew your mind, with My Word keeping vigil, and it will penetrate Will’s stubborn heart.” A believing wife of a marriage covenant can unwittingly wield an ax upon God’s redemptive work within the home, undermining its eternal purpose. But by wholesome conduct and cultivating inner beauty which is precious in God’s sight, she is considered a daughter of Sarah who, through obedience, called her husband, lord. -1Peter 3:6.

Grooming Will for the God kind of marriage she desired, Cheyenne began speaking God’s blessings over him. As old mind sets were crumbling a peaceful presence was taking their place. Seeing Will reclining in the den watching John Wayne, Cheyenne sat stroking his feet as an act of praise. She was astonished at their newborn smoothness, so unlike his sun-leathered and scarred machinist’s hands. Towering over her looking proud, Will appeared like her king on a throne…a royal set up from God!

By surrendering her will, the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control is exalted through Cheyenne in its splendor, wooing in her promised groom.
