His Strength

Description

Search for the Lord and His strength in all areas of life.

Psalm 105:4, NLT

Search for the Lord and for His strength, and keep on searching.

A mom's work is never done!  Since becoming a mom, it seems there is never a moment when someone does not need or want something from me. While it is nice to be needed and wanted, it can be utterly exhausting at times.  Most days I wake up with the knowledge that there is no way I can do all of the things that need to be done in the day, much less do them well. Through the years, I've learned that this is the best starting point for my days. Some days, I wake up and bound ahead in my own strength, but I usually do not make it too far before I am desperately searching for the Lord and His strength out of frustration or failure in my own efforts. On the other hand, when I start my days acknowledging that on my own I have very limited patience, kindness, peace, wisdom, strength, energy, etc., I am conscious of my great need for the Lord from the very beginning. Whether we are wise and search for the Lord and His strength at the start of each day or end up searching for him out of frustration and failure, this is true... the Lord wants us to seek Him and He has more than enough strength to overcome whatever it is we are facing.

If you need patience and energy to care for babies and busy toddlers well, search for the Lord and His strength. If you have no idea how to handle an emotional or spiritual issue with an older child, search for the Lord and His strength. If your family is struggling financially, search for the Lord and His strength. If you are going through a difficult season in your marriage, search for the Lord and His strength.  At all times, search for the Lord and for His strength, and keep on searching. He will answer your prayer!
