Help Not Required

Get in the habit of spending your days with God and you will find yourself loving and serving others as well as wanting more time with Him.

Acts 17: 25

And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.

In our daily Christian walk, how many times do we tell ourselves, “I ‘need’ to serve, I need to make this meal for a friend, or I need to work harder at my devotionals with God?" The interesting fact is, God does not NEED us to do anything. God loves us, just the way we are, whether we are serving, loving or spending time with Him. He accepts us 100 percent, just the way we are. God doesn’t need our help. God is not like us humans, needing people’s help all the time. God has it all covered.

However, God loves you so much and He loves it when you spend time with Him.  He loves it when you pour out your heart to Him, share your dreams and thoughts with Him. The more time you spend with God, the more you will realize that you can’t “do” anything for Him, but you can accept His love for you and you will want to return that love back to Him and to others. You will not be able to help yourself. Get into the habit of spending your days with God and you will find yourself loving others, serving others and wanting more and more time with God. You will not have to force yourself to love or serve, it will come freely from you.

God does not need your help, but He would love our heart.

Prayer: Father, Thank you God that you don’t expect anything from me. God, it is amazing that Your love is SO unconditional.  t is sometimes hard to grasp. My love can be so conditional at times and I confess that is why I can have a warped opinion of Your love for me. Thank you Lord that You are not like me. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and Your love and guide me in Your ways. I want more than anything to have a close relationship with You, so teach me Your ways. My heart is Yours, my life is Yours, do with it what You will.
