Heavenly Vision

Description

Hold this world loosely, for it will fade in the light of the Savior's face. Christ is coming again soon!

"'HE WILL WIPE EVERY TEAR FROM THEIR EYES. THERE WILL BE NO MORE DEATH’ OR MOURNING OR CRYING OR PAIN, FOR THE OLD ORDER OF THINGS HAS PASSED AWAY.” HE WHO WAS SEATED ON THE THRONE SAID, “I AM MAKING EVERYTHING NEW!” THEN HE SAID, “WRITE THIS DOWN, FOR THESE WORDS ARE TRUSTWORTHY AND TRUE.” —REVELATIONS 21:4-5

Longing for heaven is a learned longing. How could it be natural when so much beauty exists on this earth for us to see, taste, and touch? As wonderful as this short life can be, it will not compare to what awaits us—seeing the loveliness of the Savior with our own eyes and hearing His voice with our ears, knowing that we will never part from Him.

In His presence, all imperfection, pain and sadness will vanish, and earth will be remade. We will be reunited with our loved ones in Christ who were separated from us on earth by death or distance. The expectation of that day helps us persevere through the hurt and brokenness of the present. Knowing that complete peace and joy lie ahead gives us courage.

Even now, Christ's work isn't on hold—He is making us new by renewing our hearts and strength; He is teaching us how to love as He loves in order to draw more people to Himself. Hold this world loosely, for it will fade in the light of the Savior's face. He who calls us Beloved is coming again soon!

Let's pray:

Dear heavenly Father, thank You that You gave us the hope of heaven when You sent Jesus. Give me a heart that longs for heaven and longs for Your presence even more. Amen.
