Heart, Soul & Strength
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. – Deuteronomy 6:5 (NIV)
The Bible is full of stories of courageous people who stood strong and fought for what they believed. Many were young when they had to make a decision to do so. David fought Goliath to protect to the Israelite army who feared the giant. Joseph lived a godly life even in a land that didn't know God and would have never cared if he compromised his beliefs. Esther faced the threat of death to save the entire Jewish nation. All were young with a passion to live for the God they loved with all their heart, soul and strength.
We read about these biblical heroes and heroines and admire their courage and strength. They encourage us to live with the same strength and direction in our lives so that we can instill in our children a love for God that consumes their heart, soul and strength. A life full of love for God produces a courage and strength that is an example caught by children who are watching their parents and want to be like them. Are you being that kind of leader? Are you raising your kids to be that kind of leader?
Ask God to help you be the example of a leader He would have your children follow.
