He Waits Patiently
Give ear and come to me; hear me, that your soul may live. (ISAIAH 55:3)
There’s nothing more frustrating than having to be somewhere quickly and discovering you’re out of gas — literally running on empty!
It’s true of our emotional and spiritual life as well. Your personal gauge points to empty, and you wonder, “Where’s the happiness? The satisfaction? The joy?”
As Jesus returned to Galilee, John 4:4 says, “He had to go through Samaria.” There was only one reason to take a route through that place of outcasts. It was because He had a divine appointment with one person whose life was running on empty.
The Bible says, “Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well” (John 4:6). Bone weary, He was waiting to meet with one person. And still today, Jesus waits patiently to meet with anyone who’ll come to Him.
Your divine appointment with Jesus may be this very moment. Jesus is right here, right now. Wanting to meet with you. Don’t keep Him waiting.
