He Hears Our Cries
Psalm 22:24 (NIV®)
He has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.
What are you crying about? More specifically, what is the cry of your heart in this season? We know of the unique ability of a mother to recognize her child’s cry in a room full of others. But that instinct isn’t limited to a mother and child; when you hear the cries of someone you love, it gets your attention, doesn’t it? I think that is true with God and His children as well; He is moved when we cry out to Him in desperation and brokenness. Don’t hesitate to cry out to God. He loves you and wants to hear the deepest pleas of your heart.
Heavenly Father, thank You that You love and care for me even when I am feeling weak and desperate. Thank You that You are in control, even when I cannot see or understand what is happening to me or to those I care about. I trust You to listen to my cries for help. And I will give You all the praise when deliverance comes. In Jesus’ name, amen.
