He Has

Description

You don’t need to be a writer to record His goodness. Take time to ponder the things God has done for you!

O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come. (Psalm 71:17-18 ESV)

A few years ago, my family and I decided not to purchase Christmas gifts for each other, but to make something personal. Now, I have to tell you, I am not a Pinterest girl. My mother was an amazing knitter but, alas, as much as she wanted to teach me, I was unable to sit still long enough to complete more than one or two rows. Nor can I draw to save my life; don’t be calling on me to be your Pictionary partner any time soon!

I sat pondering what on earth I could do when I realized that one of the things the girls used to enjoy were my stories. So I decided to write down a few of the testimonies of the Lord’s faithfulness through the years; a written legacy of His goodness in my life. I picked a dozen different God interventions that would typically cause people to gasp and say, ‘No way!?’ when I shared. (My response would be, ‘Yahweh!’)

You don’t need to be a writer to record His goodness. In fact, if you stop and think, you’ll be surprised how many amazing things The Lord has done for you or spared you from. We need to proclaim to our children and all who will listen, look at His power and Love for us!

Father we thank You that You intervene in our lives and that You want us to remember Your goodness and to proclaim You to all. Help us to be faithful and to leave a written testimony as a legacy for generations to come. Hallelujah!
