He Gives What We Need

Description

He is our strength and our shield forever. He loves us with an everlasting love.

I woke early – Three O’clock.

My eyes stayed open and my anxious heart found no rest.

I move from the bed carefully as not to wake my husband. The dogs follow me but they know they can’t go where I’m going – behind closed doors. They wait outside until I come out.

I wonder if they’re aware I leave my anxious heart there? I wonder if they sense the change in my heart? Do they know I’ve been with their Creator?

I don’t know. I only know they wait.

In there He leads me to Psalm 49:2 “My mouth will speak words of wisdom, the utterance of my heart will give understanding.” So I wait in expectation. What is He going to say? I expect correction so I bow low humbly awaiting the blow.

But it doesn’t come.

“ I love you.” He says to my heart, “I love you.”

Wow. I am moved to praise Him. My eyes now turn to Song of Songs 2:13 & 14b: “Arise, come, My darling; My beautiful one, come with Me…show Me your face, let Me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely.”

I am blown away by His gesture toward me. I am surprised by His intimacy. I whisper love praises to Him and my heart burns within me.

I’ve partnered with women in Hello Morning to study Ephesians together so I turn there too. I am aware they will read these verses today so I lift a prayer for them hoping they will find Him in their Secret Places. I’ve learned so much from them. They are beautiful, funny and oh so real. I write this down to share with them on Facebook:

“To know Him better we need the Spirit of wisdom and revelation – so let us ask for it. To know the hope to which He has called us we need the eyes of our heart enlightened – only He can do this so let us draw near to Him with yielded hearts and willing minds.

With this Spirit of wisdom and revelation we take His hand and with enlightened eyes we see Him.

What can ever separate us from His love?  Nothing.

I remember Psalm 66:5, “Come and see what God has done, how awesome His works in man’s behalf!”

With those words burning in my heart I can only bow down with a grateful and yielded heart knowing that no matter what happens He is here. He is our strength and our shield forever. He loves us with an everlasting love. He is our God and we are His daughters. He treasures His treasure and His treasure we are.

It is a good thing to be in the hands of the Living God.”

Done. I put the notebook aside to send them later.

I leave the room and the dogs come running to find me.

Anxiety is gone.

I’m blanketed in the comfort of the Comforter.
