Have You Left the Herd?

Description

Do you want to open the door to success? Dan Miller shares the 4 big secrets of the top 5% achievers.

After working on revisions to 48 Days to the Work You Love for the 10th Anniversary Edition, I’m reminded of the things that really open the door to our success. I see so many people who are chasing yet one more degree or one more lucky connection to give them the break they need.

And then I got a message from Robin Sharma describing the 4 Big Secrets of the Top 5% Achievers. These are things any of us can do – Today.

1. Cut your excuses in half and double your action

You can make excuses or you can change the world – but you can’t do both.

2. Leave the Herd

Most people spend the best hours of their day watching TV in a subdivision. If people don’t laugh at and criticize you, you probably aren’t doing much of significance. All geniuses were laughed at before they were revered.

3. Display Grit

You just don’t give up. You have ridiculous levels of persistence. You get knocked down and you get back up. You’ve got to fall in love with your vision. You don’t get “lucky” you create “lucky” by not giving up.

4. Get fit to be of use

The more fit you are, the more people you can help. The more fit you are, the more you’ll have the energy and the stamina to change the world.

Which of these 4 is most challenging for you? Which ones have you already shown to the world?
