;

Have a Joyful Heart

Description

What happens in your core —your heart— is vital for your whole being.

A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. (Proverbs 17:22)

Down in the core of the engine room of the nuclear submarine Thresher, a leak developed in corroded pipes. The deadly dribble, it’s thought, became a spew, fouling the electrical system and sending the sub down in 8,400 feet of water with all hands. What happens in your core—your heart—is vital for your whole being. You sink or swim based on your heart-condition. Joy is the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22). When that joy spreads, it even heals your “corroded pipes.”
