Hard Work

We have hard work to do in this world. And sometimes it will be painful.

Genesis 5:28-30    When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son. He named him Noah and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.” After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters.

I think of the aches and pains I have now and I can’t imagine what those would feel like if I were 182 or 595 years old! But I think the point we need to take from this passage is that we will work hard in this life; in this world, and that work will sometimes be painful.

So let’s not be surprised or curse God when our work is hard, let’s thank Him for the times when it isn’t.
