Growing Business

These Cambodian children have begun their own economic development project – raising and selling mushrooms.

Children in Leuk Daek, Cambodia, attend World Vision's clubs for children and youth. They learn how to create a civil society by discovering their rights, learning to create lasting improvements in their community, understanding that issues such as domestic violence cannot be tolerated, and helping to bring peace to their families. They also get help with their homework and play fun games.

They learn business and organizational skills by raising and selling mushrooms. With the proceeds they are able to sustain the mushroom business, purchase supplies for the children’s group, and make a generous gift of school supplies for children whose family can’t afford them.
