Greater Things

Description

We must learn how to cooperate with God so that His power is made evident through our lives.

John 14:12 (NIV®)

“I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”

Jesus is speaking to His disciples, men who have been with Him for three years. They’ve seen Him walk on water and quiet the wind and waves. They’ve seen Him call a dead man from the grave and cast out demons. Then Jesus says that if they have faith in Him, they’ll be able to do even greater things. Because “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Heb. 13:8), this power is available in the twenty-first century as it was in the first century. Our objective is simple: learn how to cooperate with God so that His power is made evident through our lives. That is our only hope to meet the challenges and opportunities we face today.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for the power of Your Word that indwells in every believer. I come before You in humility, recognizing that I am helpless on my own but powerful when I cooperate with You. Give me discernment to know Your purposes for my life and the strength to fulfill them, for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
