God, The Answer
Description
A fictitious story was written about a group of engineers, geologist, chemists, and scientists who came together to search for an answer to this question; "Where did the universe come from?" They spent years compiling information, checking it and re-checking it. The information was gathered and stored in a computer data base.
The theories, knowledge, hypothesis and research were put together by the computer and now they awaited the answer to their question."Where did the universe come from?" A button was pushed, lights flashed, bells rang, relays opened and closed, and the answer appeared on the screen: See Genesis 1:1.
There are 66 books in the Bible. Genesis is the foundation upon which the rest of the bible sits. There are 1,189 chapters in the bible, and Genesis chapter one is the foundation for all the other chapters. There are 23,214 verses in the Old Testament and Genesis 1:1 is the foundation of all the other verses.
Genesis is the front door to the rest of the bible. Genesis 1 is the knob that turns the door, but Genesis 1:1 is the key that unlocks the doorknob. The first verse, made up of ten words, is sublimely simple and simply sublime. In ten short simple succinct, but sublime words, is the WHEN, WHO, HOW, and WHAT of all things.
"In the beginning" – That is the WHEN! "God" – That is the WHO! "Created" – That is the HOW! "The heavens and the earth" – That is the WHAT! The rest of the bible is give to WHY!
The first verse gives us the theology of creation. The rest of the chapter provides the chronology of creation. We are told in the beginning that God created all things, from electrons to electricity, from gold to galaxies, from dandelions to dinosaurs, and from apples to Adam.
If Genesis 1:1 is true, then God is the answer to every question of life that really matters. Life's questions will never be adequately answered until a person grasps the truth of Genesis 1:1. If the universe is without a maker, and without a method, then it must be without meaning. God is both maker of all things and He is the meaning of all there is.
