God’s Wisdom

If you follow God’s wisdom in training up your child, God’s wisdom will prove right every time.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. I Corinthians 1: 25

Always seek God’s wisdom over man’s wisdom and know that the two will never match up. If you follow God’s wisdom in training up your child, God’s wisdom will prove right every time. It is hard to go against the current in our culture. It is hard to do what is right in God's eyes, when everyone around us is doing what is right in their own eyes. As a mom, I can justify my decisions and convince myself that standing firm in my convictions doesn’t really matter. But, I need to always pray and ask God for His wisdom and ask God how will my decision affect my child in the long run.

Trust in your decisions in how you parent your child and don’t give into what the culture says is “okay."  You may feel that you are standing alone with your decisions, but it is better to stand alone than to follow the crowd and regret the outcome. The world pushes our children to grow up faster and faster. Faster is not always better. Keep in mind that God has entrusted you with your child and He will direct you, if you ask Him.

Father, give me wisdom as I parent my child. Help me to discern what is the wisest choice with my children. I do not want to be overprotective, but I also do not want to be permissive either. Teach me the delicate balance as my child grows. Help me to keep my eyes on You, and not on the world as I walk this journey of motherhood.
