God's Will Be Done

Romans 8 tells us we are called according to God's purpose, not our own.

Isaiah 59:14-16 (NIV®)

Justice is driven back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot enter. Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. The LORD looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was no one, he was appalled that there was no one to intervene.

God was displeased. He had looked for people to accomplish His purposes in the earth, and none of His people stepped forward. There is a perversion of the gospel that is so rampant it’s about to overwhelm the church. It says, “God, may Your power be made evident in my life for my purposes. God, may all the resources of heaven be put at my disposal for my satisfaction and my contentment.” Jesus taught us to pray, “YOUR Kingdom come, YOUR will be done.” Let us recommit ourselves to knowing and accomplishing the purposes of God.

Heavenly Father, I come before You asking for a renewed passion to pursue Your purposes. Give me strength to recognize the detractors for what they are and push past them. Give me hope in the face of discouragement. I choose You in all things. In the name of your Son, amen.
