;

God's Purpose, Not Our Preference

Description

Are you focusing more on God’s purpose? Or are you constantly concerned with your preference?

Speaking the Truth in Love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is Christ. Ephesians 4:15

Think

In a Time Magazine interview about coming out, Ellen DeGeneres said, “I didn’t choose to be anything other than a comedian; I just happen to be gay and I don’t feel like keeping it a secret, so I announced it. It all turned into this whole big political thing.” If Jesus were the interviewer, though, what would He say?

In all of our lives, there is often a discrepancy between our preference and God’s purpose. How we feel and what we desire does not always align with God’s design. We may want or desire one thing. But what is the right thing?

No matter what our perspective is, God’s purpose and plans for our lives are clear. The Bible is our playbook and serves as a road map, instruction manual and guide for living life according to His purpose. Are you focusing more on God’s purpose? Or are you constantly concerned with your preference?

Pray:

Mathew 6:10 says, “Your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven”. Today, pray this simple prayer and ask God to reveal His prevailing plan and purpose in your life.

Act:

God’s perfect plan is outlined in His playbook, the Bible. Every day, commit to reading, studying and meditating on His word so that our perspective is influenced by His Word and not the world.
