Joyce, one of our team members, was delayed for the bullet train that was to take her back to Beijing to catch her flight to the USA. She wondered what the Lord had in store for her. She was able to catch a train with Chinese passengers and not on the usual restricted foreigners' train. She and her translator sat next to a man, who discovering that she was a Christian therapist, said he would NEVER talk to a person like her. Thirty minutes later, he was talking and Joyce was sharing the Gospel. Listen to what also happened to Paul:
12 Now I want you to know, brethren, that my circumstances have turned out for the greater progress of the Gospel,
13 so that my imprisonment in Christ has become well known throughout the whole praetorian guard and to everyone else,
14 and that most of the brethren, trusting in the Lord because of my imprisonment, have far more courage to speak the word of God without fear. (Phil 1:12-14)
Having a train delay is one thing, but prison is quite another. When mere inconvenience or delay happens, ask yourself what door of opportunity the Lord may be opening up. He is the God of coincidence and delay who opens up paths of spiritual opportunity for his children.
