God's Help Is Already on its Way!
“‘Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” (Isaiah 41:10, NASB)
One of my favorite verses is drawn from Psalm 121: “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (see Psalm 121:1-2, NIV)
Why lift your eyes to the mountains?
When the Jewish people were going to Jerusalem for the feasts, they would recite the Psalms and sing hymns. Gradually, during their ascent to Jerusalem and the temple of God, their expectation would increase. They knew that something special was going to happen between them and the Lord. They knew that their sins would be forgiven.
You, too, be expectant! The Lord is ready to bless you and help you!
Here is a promise for you: “For the mountains may move and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you. (Isaiah 54:10, NLT)
When you are walking through mountains and hills, when you see them move or disappear, remember that:
- God will do what He promises
- His love will not be moved
- His peace will remain with you
Yes, God will accomplish everything He has promised for your life!
As you walk towards your mountain, towards your temple, sing God’s praises! Step after step, remember how good He has been to you. And be assured that He will always be good to you. Your help comes from Him.
