The apostle Paul reminded us that Jesus has promised, “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Corinthians 12:9). God’s grace is sufficient to cover the “if onlys”.
From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ—JOHN 1:16–17.
When was your last attack of the “if onlys”? Thinking about what might have been can send you into a downward spiral of depression, can’t it? There have been dreadful times in my life when I have wrestled with deep regret to the point that I have cried out with weeping, “If only …!” I had to take all of those painful regrets to the foot of the cross and leave them there. I had to lay myself down in God’s grace and plead for His mercy to break the emotional and spiritual paralysis the “if onlys” had caused.
Stop living in the past. That was then. The apostle Paul reminded us that Jesus has promised, “My grace is sufficient for you” (2 Corinthians 12:9). God’s grace is sufficient to cover the “if onlys.” He will give you a fresh start.
Stop looking in the rearview mirror and start looking forward!
