God's Glory Moved Across the Room
“Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.” (Exodus 40:34, NIV)
I still remember the day this verse came alive for me. It was the first time I ever witnessed God’s Spirit (glory) move across an entire room. The room at the Jobs Ministry was full with 50 people who were unemployed. My talk focused on the Kingdom Law of Seedtime and Harvest – the importance of sowing good seeds. Three days before my talk, the Holy Spirit told me to bless the Ministry by: (1) providing copies of my presentation for everyone (2) making a substantial donation to the Ministry (3) giving money and gifts to the participants. Initially I felt some resistance. With an attitude I argued with God, “This is a Pro Bono talk. I’m not getting paid. Now you’re telling me to spend money on handouts and gifts, give someone a $50 bill, and you want me to make a large donation to the ministry.” After some quiet time in prayer, I agreed to simply trust God and be obedient.
As I closed my talk, I asked, “Who in the room needs money?” Many hands went up. I reached into my pocket, took out the $50 bill and handed it to a man on the second row. I saw the surprise on his face and then his eyes filled with tears.
Looking up, I noticed the entire room was still and silent. No one spoke or moved. I went on to place my donation in the offering basket on the table and asked the audience to sow into this important ministry.
Afterward, I went to Karen and said, “Did you see it?” She instantly knew what I meant by my question. We shared that we both witnessed this cloud as the glory of the Lord moved across the room. We found out later, the Holy Spirit’s presence was felt by all. The Director shared that the crowd made the largest donation in the history of the ministry! I will never forget the day as I saw God’s glory fill the room, move and cover all!
Lord, thank you for showing us your glory. May your glory rest upon me each day. May your glory go before me to lead and guide me. Through the blood of Jesus and in the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
