God of Order

Karen Stubbs shares how we can find peace in God.

I Corinthians 14:33

For God is not a God of disorder but of peace.

No matter what age your children are at this moment in time, usually with children, chaos is close behind. Whether you have just brought your newborn home from the hospital and you are struggling to get sleep cycles started, or whether your toddler has learned the word “NO!” or “mine” and is no longer compliant with your every wish. Whether your elementary aged child has discovered that you are their personal taxi cab driver and you will take them to 50 activities a month or whether your teenager is now as tall as you and bigger than you with attitude and ideas that push you to your breaking point…chaos is usually nearby.

As a mom, I want peace not chaos. Peace is found in God. Therefore, I must draw near to God in order to find peace. You can draw near to God without having a deep Bible study every day. You can start off each morning thanking God for that day and for your family, for your home, for your health. Setting your mind is so very important and needs to be the first thing you do every day. You can set your mind while walking to the kitchen to get a bottle, while you are making the coffee, while walking to wake up your children for school. It does not take long to pray, only a second. Instead of thinking of everything you have to do on that given day, first pray to God and thank Him for the day. One quick step that will make a world of difference in your life is to ask God to go before you in your day. Ask God for His blessings in your life. Ask God to give you wisdom as you parent your children and love your husband.

I give You this day and all that it brings. Thank You for bringing peace into my crazy life…I need that. I pray that as I go through my day today I will look to You to find peace and contentment. Thank You for always loving me and taking care of me.
