God Is Our Father

It's hard to grasp that the creator of the universe wants to be in conversation with us.

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors (Matthew 6:9-12).

God is our Father. We are kids of the King, princes and princesses because God adopted us. Our astounding sibling is Jesus. God’s not a standoffish parent who rears us from afar, but a personal Father who desires to be involved in every part of our lives. He wants us to tell Him every little thing, the hurts and the joys, the trivial and the significant. He’s interested in everything we do.

Imagine! The Creator of the universe longs to be in conversation with us. Prayer is a time for Him to reveal Himself to us. It is a privilege and a gift we must take advantage of. He has even told us how to pray.

Dear Daddy, who lives in heaven, you are so awesome. please come back and bring heaven with you. I want to do whatever you ask of me here on earth and then in heaven, forever and ever. Please give me food to eat and fill my needs because I can’t do it without you. Forgive the bad things I’ve thought, said or done to others. And help me forgive the people who have hurt me. Don’t let me be tempted by bad things but protect me from them....

FAITH STEP: Today, talk to your Father in heaven as a child to a loving father. Use straightforward, uncomplicated words to express your heart.
