God Has Bigger, Better Plans Than We Do
“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13
I’m just a normal person. I came to Uganda to teach a kindergarten class not knowing how to teach. I started Amazima Ministries not knowing how to run or manage a non-profit. I became a mother not knowing how to parent (don’t we all start out that way?). I’m not particularly qualified; I don’t have a college degree. I sometimes get impatient, and I want to yell at my children and selfishly want to spend my time my way. Of course, experience is valuable, and seeking wisdom from His Holy Spirit is even more so, but we can disqualify ourselves from all sorts of things because we don’t feel adequate. The truth is, I feel inadequate every day. But that is not going to stop me. I’ve come to accept that I am weak and flawed.
God loves to use ordinary people to do extraordinary things so that others can see Jesus. We simply need to be willing to say yes – to walk forward in ordinary moments of obedience to God. When we do, He will open little doors that make our lives more than anything we can imagine. He has bigger, better plans and dreams than we do.
