God Doesn't Miss A Thing
This week we're going through our study in Proverbs. Download the Weekly Guide for Spiritual Growth and then read the article below!
The eyes of the Lord are everywhere and he takes note of everything that happens. He watches over his lovers, and he also sees the wickedness of the wicked. - Proverbs 15:3
Life can be hard. And everyone said, “Amen.”
I don’t know what you are currently facing or what is coming your way, but can I encourage you today?
God doesn’t miss a thing.
He is omniscient – knowing everything. He is omnipotent - having unlimited power and authority, and able to do anything. He is omnipresent - present everywhere at the same time. He is “I AM.” Whatever you need, He is.
As we read Proverbs six through thirteen, we see a back-and-forth comparison of the people that have the fear of the Lord and the wicked people that have disregarded Him. It is very clear that the people that live to honor and pursue God have great benefits and the wicked suffer great consequences. Every verse shows how God takes note and watches over His people and those who have chosen to ignore Him. Although in this life we may not always see the outcomes we desire for our situations we can read these chapters and know God is a god who takes note, and His will always prevails.
Let’s take a look:
If you wait at wisdom’s doorway, longing to hear a word for every day, joy will break forth within you as you listen for what I’ll say. For the fountain of life pours into you every time that you find me, and this is the secret of growing in the delight and the favor of the Lord. But those who stumble and miss me will be sorry they did! For ignoring what I have to say will bring harm to your own soul. Those who hate me are simply flirting with death! – Proverbs 8:34-36
The Lord will not allow the righteous to hunger [God will meet all his needs], but He will reject and cast away the craving of the wicked. – Proverbs 10:3
The [reverent] fear of the Lord [worshiping, obeying, serving, and trusting Him with awe-filled respect] prolongs one’s life, but the years of the wicked will be shortened. The hope of the righteous [those of honorable character and integrity] is joy, but the expectation of the wicked [those who oppose God and ignore His wisdom] comes to nothing. – Proverbs 10:27-28
Where there is no [wise, intelligent] guidance, the people fall [and go off course like a ship without a helm], but in the abundance of [wise and godly] counselors there is victory. – Proverbs 11:14
Assuredly, the evil man will not go unpunished, but the descendants of the righteous will be freed. – Proverbs 11:21
All the days of the afflicted are bad, but a glad heart has a continual feast [regardless of the circumstances]. Better is a little with the [reverent, worshipful] fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble with it. – Proverbs 15:15-16
Whatever you are facing let it be known that God is victorious. He brings the victory in every situation, not us, and definitely not the enemy. Your situation will turn, and God’s hand is always moving. He stays right there with us and sees every high and every low. Stay faithful. Seek Him diligently and reap the benefits of a righteous relationship with Him. I urge you, trust Him to work all things out. He sees every detail and all sides. As my mom always says, “You are still standing and God is always moving.”
Friend, can I pray for you?
Father, you see everything we are facing. You see where we have tried our best and where we have miserably failed. You see our laughter, our joy, our tears, our anxieties, our anger, our frustrations, and our fears. You see everything we have been through and everything we have yet to see or face. We believe that no matter how life changes our foundation in you is what keeps us at peace and hopeful. Bless us Lord. Put your hand on us, our families, and our situations. Protect us and give us wisdom and discernment as we continue to walk faithfully. Help us trust in you and above all else let your will be done. Amen.
