God Doesn't Leave You on the Ground
“My foot is slipping.” The Christian life is a walk, and we may trip sometimes ... even fall.
In which areas do you fall easily?
- Sexual impurity?
- Another addiction?
You can entrust these areas to the Lord and let Him transform, strengthen, and lift you up day by day.
Whether we’re new believers or well-established in the faith, we all are in danger of falling. That’s why the Bible warns us: “Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.” (see 1 Corinthians 10:12)
But the good news is that “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.” (the Bible, Psalm 37:24) God isn’t surprised that we fall, and He has already planned out everything ahead of time to lift us up, day after day, from our failures.
We will perhaps fall again, but if we keep clinging to Him, God will not leave us there on the ground. A diamond that falls in the mud doesn’t lose its value.
“From six calamities he will rescue you; in seven no harm will touch you.” (see the Bible, Job 5:19, NIV) Yes, God wants to lift you up and give you the joy and strength to go forward.
Today, don’t say “my foot is slipping,” “I’m going to fall,” any longer. Say instead, “A thousand may fall at my side, And ten thousand at my right hand; But it shall not come near me!” (according to the Bible, Psalm 91:7)
May the grace of God accompany you today!
